Hi Vee- Saw this tutorial on Hometalk via email today. I just happened to change out a lampshade that is similar to the one in your tutorial yesterday. I have been thinking about using a shade to put over an older (mid 80's) chandelier that I had stripped of its etched glass shades when we moved in to our house 15 years ago. When I saw your idea about attaching the chicken wire to the shade (for your basket), I was like WOW! I can do that to my lampshade, put it over the chandelier and the chicken wire won't burn like a fabric covered lampshade base would! I immediately retrieved said lampshade and ripped all the fabric and beads (oh yech!) off and spray painted it with Old Rubbed Bronze. I got my DH to take down the chandelier and we are off to the races! You made me a very happy homemaker/recycler today with this inspiration. Thank you and God bless!
It works, it works!
ReplyDeleteYeah .. now to figure out how to make it look better and get some Picts on it!!
